Postdoctoral Researchers

Neetu Singh

she/her

Postdoctoral researcher, Department of Chemistry, Univeristy of Minnesota

Bio:

Neetu earned her PhD degree in computational biophysics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, India, 2019. Subsequently, she joined the Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi as a Research Associate. Currently, she is working on modelling membrane-protein interactions using molecular dynamics simulations to understand the membrane lysis phenomena during phase infection.

Ernesto Cortes-Morales

he/him

Postdoctoral researcher, Department of Chemistry, Univeristy of Minnesota

Bio:

Ernesto earned his PhD degree in physics from the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosi, Mexico, 2018. He subsequently joined the University of Notre Dame and worked as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant until Fall 2021. He is currently studying heterogeneous ice nucleation phenomenon using molecular dynamics simulations.

Graduate Students

Jiarun Zhou

she/her

PhD student, Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Clemson Univeristy

Bio:

Zhou received BS degree in chemical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. She currently works on ice nucleation.

Salman Bin Kashif

he/him

PhD student, Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Clemson Univeristy

Bio:

Salman received a B.Tech. degree in chemical engineering from Aligarh Muslim University, India and MSc degree in chemical engineering from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. His work is aimed towards understaing the mechanisms of soulte rejection and fouling in desalination membranes. He is also working on the development of a generalized tool for atomistic structure generation of cross-linked polymers.

Steven Hall

he/him

PhD student, Department of Chemical Engineering and Material Science, Univeristy of Minnesota

Bio:

Steven received a BS degree in chemical and biomolecular engineering from Clemson University, 2018. His current research aims to develop and extract useful information from rare event simulations, as well as probe clathrate hydrate nucleation and inhibition. He transferred to the University of Minnesota in Fall 2021.

Varun Gopal

he/him

PhD student, Department of Chemical Engineering and Material Science, Univeristy of Minnesota

Bio:

Varun graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2017 with a BS degree in chemical engineering. He subsequently worked as a process engineer for Graphic Packaging International at a paper mill in Augusta, GA for 1.5 years. He began graduate school at Clemson in the fall of 2019. He transferred to the University of Minnesota in Fall 2021.
